Cig-promoting SL merchants just DON'T get it - but DO get snippy
Apparently, one of the buddies of the mega-bitch designers I've named in my BOYCOTT CANCER MERCHANTS ad has pointed it out to them, and a number of the forum mavens have descended on my website and crapped in my tagboard (rectified).
These designers and their bully-buddies seem to think that using cigs as props in ads is KEWL, and that using the cigs in ads is "harmless", since "avatars don't get cancer". They also labor under the halfwitted idea that my criticism of their cigarette props is due to some kind of jealousy. Why I'm supposed to be jealous of some arrogant Dior wannabe who thinks putting a cigarette in an ad is harmless is beyond me. I'm not jealous -- I'm outraged that anyone could, after years and years of research proving that tobacco use results in cancer and slow, agonizing death (INCLUDING THAT OF MY OWN UNCLE JIMMY), be so abysmally stupid as to think that ads featuring cigarettes are "harmless".
Promoting tobacco use is not cool --- it's EVIL and irresponsible. That's why there are laws against TV ads for tobacco products. And if they and their snippy friends think that I'm intimidated by their harassing tactics, they're brainfucked as well as arrogant.
| UPDATE: BBC NEWS article -- "The public are being asked to choose a series of picture warnings to appear on cigarette packets from next year. People can give their opinion on a range of images designed to highlight the dangers of smoking on a website set up by the Department of Health.
Evidence shows that images have a greater impact than written health warnings alone, and they have already been introduced in some countries. " |

LOL! Just noticed in the SL forums -- one of the idjits whining about "negativity" in the BULLETIN BOARD forum -- a decidedly off-topic post for that forum, by the way. Evidently criticizing them for their complete lack of intelligence, questionable taste, and irresponsible ethics has tweaked their nerves; they also don't appreciate my opinion of SL fake pregnancies or the current marketing ploy of using FATPACKS to avoid paying commissions/advertising on SLB and SLX (I guess they assumed that no-one would figure out their sleazy tactic, and now they're pissed off that I "outed" them for it). Apparently everyone in SL is just supposed to avoid mentioning the white elephant/600lb gorilla in the virtual living room and allow them to do whatever the hell they want to without notice and definitely without public comment. That's just too damn bad.
I'm also competing with some of the designer's friends, by featuring NEW PRODUCTS on my site. I offer another viewpoint on the designers in SL, which is not quite so slavishly adoring as the "fashionista" site or the blogsites of the designers themselves. They would much rather no-one pointed out little glitches or similarities or how boring many of their products really are (t-shirts, corsets, blue jeans/jean shorts, and bikinis). They probably also didn't like being reminded in a recent editorial of mine that many of the hair/fabric/clothing/skin textures in use by SL designers are all stolen right off the Internet, and that whining about "texture theft" in such a case is ridiculous.
I'm like the boy in the story who pointed out that the Emperor wasn't wearing any clothes. My observations are SO damned inconvenient for them. Unfortunately, they can't attack me by name in the forums, due to Linden rules. They try, via comments about "third-party sites" and trying to hide their commiserations in the BULLETIN BOARD forum, where they can whine about "so much negativity...". They also have sent their childishly vicious bitch-bully friends to crap in my tagboard.
These are the same merchants who bitch ENDLESSLY in the forums about people selling freebies (items which were released with full perms, clearly allowing anyone to sell them by Linden Labs' own rules). They whine repeatedly about the ethics of other vendors selling freebies, but their own ethics can't be questioned, apparently, and their organized group/mob visitations on "yard sales" to check up on who's selling full-perm freebies ISN'T "negative", to their thinking. If they weren't being so completely asinine, that would be funny.

Well, checked my site and deleted another little turdlet left in my tagboard by one of the bitch-bullies -- someone using the name "ULALIA".
All these sniping bitches seem to notice is that I named their big-shot designers as CANCER MERCHANTS. They don't see all the good links I provide on my site, they don't see the many good things I've had to say about any number of the new products I've mentioned. All they see is that I don't like people pushing cancer sticks and that I criticized the hotshot designers of SL for their irresponsible advertising and their sleazy marketing ploys.
They are shortsighted, smallminded, and stupid. And I will continue deleting their crap from my tagboard as often as they crap in it.
